What is Recognition of Prior Learning or RPL?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the process of recognising the skills, knowledge and experience of candidates acquired through work or learning. Candidates who do not have any formal qualifications but have significant experience and skills can apply for their prior learning to be transferred into a formal qualification such as a Diploma or Certificate.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) can also assist to give suitable applicants, credits for their skills, knowledge and experience gained over the years through work and/or study. The knowledge and experience may be from Australia or overseas.
To assess the prior skills, knowledge and experience various assessments are conducted based on evidence provided by applicants that demonstrate their skills and knowledge in alignment to the units of competency and associated assessment requirements for a particular qualification.

RPL Application Process
Four critical steps involved in the RPL process
If you are eligible, you will receive an application form and the RPL kit to get started. You will receive an Invoice for payment. Our friendly team will guide you through the process.
Portfolio of Evidence
Our RPL coordinator will work with you to help you gather all the required evidence. It may include your resume, work references, work samples, photos and videos from your workplace, your previous qualifications, and other such records.
Verification and Evaluation
The evidence portfolio is verified and evaluated by competent assessors from our partner RTO. You may have a few competency conversations with the assessors so they know more about your skills.
